![]() | Can I play every version? - no. Can I play some versions? - yes. Would I play it in concert? - no, there are better pieces of music out there. Anybody else familiar with the Harry Mortimer version? A great way to scare cornet players - it comes after a really simple arrangement of The Lost Chord in the Harry Mortimer Album - when they turn the page, the look on their faces is beautiful |

![]() | Dear Manny Thank you. Very well said I have the Harry James verson in an old Harry James method book that I like to go over. A lot of young people think because something is old they don't think it can be complex or a challange. If you can locate this book I urge anyone to try it out. Its fun and a challange. We all have to have a good strong foundation in music, whether it is Jazz or Classical because you HAVE TO know where you are coming from in order to know where you are going. In other words, if you disrespect the past and past great artists you have no roots. How can a tree grow and flourish with no roots? Rick AKA Trumpet Man |
