Take my word for it, Zigs people CAN make a total clone, but, do they want to get any farther into making Dave angry enough to file against them? I know that imitation is the highest form of compliment, but, some compliments that potentially take away market share can cause serious upset.

Lou, you are right about the ABILITY to make the reamers, but if they are going to go through the effort, they need to recoop that change too. The clones that I played did NOT have the same backbore (my pencil went in further on the real thing......). I think the real reason that the clones aren't the same is that Kanstul can't get away with selling something that non-standard. The Monette customer knows why he buys in and what needs to be done. I don't hear anyone from Kanstul talking about body use.........

I don't think Dave is worried about Kanstul. People buy into his "family". Being a Monette client is more than being just some anonymous customer.

In any case, there is no "warm" mouthpiece BRAND - including Warburton. All companies have models that are all over the color spectrum.

If the Monette mouthpiece gets your playing more relaxed, then your sound will become fuller. Depending on the piece the color could darken or brighten up. I use a B2D and it is just perfect for the orchestral and solo stuff that I do. A B6 is what I use for lead.

Jonster,Why dont you try a 3c bach Megatone.I play the 1 1/2 c Mega and its easier to play than my standard 1 1/2c.Its also much darker, richer and robust than the standard bach. The extra mass gives it the sound character and it has a slightly larger throat than the standard model which for me makes it more flexible.I dont think many people play them, but I like mine.

Re: does this work?????

You're gonna get a million different arguments about what mouthpieces you should use and why. but the answer (givin on the rest of the "which one should i use" equipment related threads) is what works for you. If you are in the market for a new mouthpiece, just go to a store where they have all these different brands and try them all. if you got 315$ to spend, go for it. if you find a 35$ stock bach mouthpiece that works for you, go for it.
