EBay "Monette" SCAM?

Im not in the market for a monette But check out the descriptions on these trumpets. What is going on? Did one of these guys just kinda copy the others description with the Mark Isham stuff?

Obviously NOT!

One is in Boston, other is in L.A.
One is silver, other is raw brass.
One was in movies, other was not.

Whether Isham loves them or not is a different issue, but may well be a selling point.

Description of playing quality is probably from advertising media or is part of the oath and secret handshake among Monette players.

I thought something looked fishy with those 2 also. The raw brass one is definately a Monette but the silver plated one? I'm not so sure. It says that it's early 80's but it looks odd to me.

I too think it's very strange that they use the exact same language--feesable but make you go "hmmm".

If I'm not mistaken, the silver one (a Chicago STC model) is for sale by Jon Lewis (heir apparent to Malcom McNab in the LA studios) - he posted info on it on TPIN a while back - it's the real deal - Jon knows of what he speaks - TC

I think that's the first silver-plated Monette I've ever seen.

go to www.monette.net and you'll see more (look at the LT2000 models) - it's actually a bit unusual to see a chicago monette plated at all, but Cal Price (the 1st owner) could have stipulated that for using his name in advertising or could have had it done afterwards himself.
