Hey Kamikaze,

Isn't a kamikaze a Japanese suicide pilot from Word War II?

Re: Embouchure

When you're into that ring-thingy I know what the thing is. I didnt read all the replies but anyway; the ring on your lips come when you play because you are training and building you're lip-muscles.
I dont know if the lips has got any muscles in them, but let's pretend they are.
So the ring means that you have played and trained and you've got better muscles than you did before.

I also has got a friend who has pretty messed up lips. When I play the highest tones I can as long as I can I've got marks from the mouthpiece (the ring), but he has it all the time. He has played for 3 years but plays 3 hours a day, so he's pretty good.
So if you're training your arm 3 hours a day it grows bigger, if you're training you're lips 3 hours a day they grov bigger.

Nothing to worry about :)

Hey Frippel,

I hope my lips don't get too big.

"Divine Wind" is more like it.

Re: Embouchure

Really?
I even looked it up in my History book, a kamikaze is a Japanese suicide pilot, it may mean divine wind also, but it is also the term for a Japanese suicide pilot.

Re: Embouchure

As a relative newbie, I can only add that having someone to give you accurate feedback and sound coaching with someone who knows what they are doing is the best way to go. I really didn't start to develop a decent embouchure, range and tone until I hooked up with an instructor. Left on my own I can think myself to death!
