ML -- I'm not sure you want to know why they chose the name AC/DC. They kinda rock, but not the group for me.

I'm a U2 guy (got my main-floor tickets for their show at Target Center!!!!). <--that reminds me, anyone live in the Chicago area want a single U2 ticket for their concert next week (May 10, I believe), I have one up for grabs and cannot use it myself....let me know.

Anyway....

Sorry Manny, I was just feeling wacky. Although, AC/DC does rock hard, and if you were a rock musician I'm sure you would rock hard!

Anybody ever played transcriptions of Frank Zappa tunes? We did one in band a few years ago and it was SCARY!!! I think Zappa made a transcription of Stairway to Heaven that had a full orchestration of the guitar solo. Crazy stuff...

PS How can we leave Guns 'n Roses and Aerosmith out of the conversation?

Zappa wrote a lot of orchestral music. He wanted to be a "serious" composer in his later years I think.
