Hee, hee...Ja, Engels het is voor jou Toots!

I basically told him in a crude translation, since my grammar in het Nederlands leaves much to be desired....."Much thanks my friend. I am not a girl, so meisje would not do and I chose vrouw because I am a woman, but I am also a lady. Since I am married to my music and my trumpet, I guess I am a trumpet wife. I am a trumpet woman, wife and lady.

The Van Dale (their official dictionary) says that vrouw can mean lady or woman. Now I feel dizzy. LOL."

The Van Dale is, of course, correct. The nuance is that dame is to vrouw as lady is to woman; i.e., think of one as the more sophisticated/up-scale version of the other.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome... (and kind words)

I'll be sure to share something about Denny when I get some free time.

I was turned on to this site by Mr. Laureano sometime early last year. So far, I've enjoyed the attitude reflected on this site as compared to some of the other internet forum choices...

A quick history of my internet/trumpet use:

I was one of the first people involved with the TPIN listserve that Mike started out of Blair, NE. I was in Lincoln at the time studying with Denny Schneider (if you don't know his name, you should ask around...)

Well, after everyone figured out how to "flame" other people's opinions, (usually over this hot new french trumpet builder, Monet? Mounette?) I decided to bow out of the internet war of words and paractice.

Nowadays, I end up warming up on my mpc while checking in on the TM news of the day, lots of fun.

Thank you all for your time and posts.

-Kelly

ps I'll be in NY for the upcoming IAJE convention if anyone wants to say hi:)
Hi Kelly,
I think we've crossed notes together back in the day in Lincoln. I studied with Denny for a time, the same time as Laurie Frink. How's Steve Wright, still working your part of the world?

I'm hoping to run into Laurie when I'm in NY this next week, I'll pass on a hello if you'd like.
