Trumpet1Ohio is on a distinguished road
I've always charged what the other folks, who have been there a while, have charged. I think I'm going to raise my rate.

Warren -- if you're asking because you have some concern about what you're charging, don't fret it. I've played with several of your students and even if you go up to $25 a lesson or more, they're still getting their money's worth. I think you do an excellent job!

For what it's worth, I started at $10 per 1/2 hour, went to $12 two years later, and now am at $15. I should have gone to $17 or $18 by now, but just am too lazy to dicker with the odd numbers!!

I take jazz trumpet lessons from one of the top players/teachers in Milwaukee. I pay about $50/hour, but our times usually carry well over an hour, and he always offers me a couple beers.

Bob O is correct but some (most) schools charge the teacher
an administrative fee which varies from fifty cents to a dollar and a half.

My regular lessons cost $25 an hour. Not bad.
