The following took place between 10:00 am and 11:pm

10:00

As the F-16 carrying Jack and the unconscious pilot carrens out of control Jack realizes he hasn't said "Damn it!" for over three hours. He swears loudly and thinks furiously as the plane loses altitude. He realizes that there's no way to disengage the now-locked yoke. With no capability to steer, jack looks around and spies the ejection seat button. He dons a helmet and presses the button. Unfortunately for Jack all he accomplishes is sending Chuck, the pilot, out of the plane with his automatic parachute engaging while the F-16 continues to lose altitude with Jack still locked in his seat and no way to steer. He's at 12,000 feet and descending.

Nina has mercifully stopped the tape playing the Barney song but Kim is distraught. Kim tells her that she made a mistake in kidnapping her because she was abducted before she could get to work and find out what was going on. Nina tells her that was unfortunate and instructs the guard to kill Kim. Naturally, she walks out of the room before it happens to receive a phone call. Kim pretends to faint. The guard decides, as a final lecherous act, to kiss her before he kills her though she's asleep. When Kim feels the kiss she lunges forward and grabs the man's lips with her teeth, muffling his screams as he passes out from the pain. She spits his lips out and works her way over to the door and rocks until she can force the door open with her seated body. She and the chair fall outside as the chair smashes to bits, freeing her. She runs towards the highway.

10:11

Jack is running out of time. He remembers a gift that was given to him that may help. He contorts his body to reach into his back pocket and pulls out the sharpest implement he has: a Prana mouthpiece. Using the inner edge of the shank he cuts through the seat belt and jumps into the pilot seat and is able to undo the locking mechanism and right the plane in time to avoid the crash. He calls ahead to Minneapolis and asks them to clear a runway for him, that he would be there in half an hour. Risking all for the sake of time, he turns on the afterburners and races toward the Twin Cities.

10:17

President Wayne Palmer is clearly disturbed by the conversation he has had with Anna Cruzis. He has asked her for a favor in assisting Jack in his investigation and has told her to expect him and to give him her full cooperation. What concerns him is the price she has exacted for that help. She wants to see him again and has made him promise to bring her to Washington when all was done.

10:20

In the Middle East, bin Farteen and his bodyguards are travelling by camel to nearby Dubai to receive shipment of the special oil that is to be delivered. The mold he has is safe in his pocket. He notices that his bodyguards are in a different formation than usual and asks why they are surrounding him, that it obscures his vision. He feels an intense, searing pain in his back and realizes he has been stabbed. He lashes out but hits no one as the guards elude him. Before he falls off the camel he feels a hand reach into his pocket and take the mold. He looks up to see the veiled guards riding off leaving him in the desert to die in the heat.

10:28

Kim is by the side of the road, hopping as quickly as she can with her hands and legs bound. After what seems like forever, she works out of her ropes and flags down a motorist. She asks for a cell phone to make a call and calls Buchanan. He answers and Kim tells him about Nina. Shocked, he tells Tony to set up a perimeter for no apparent reason, he just likes saying that.

10:35

Jack is fast approaching the Twin Cities but has seriously miscalculated how long the afterburners would last and is losing power and altitude again. Without a parachute, he phones ahead and the Minneapolis CTU associates that he's going to attempt a water landing in the St. Croix River and to send a chopper to pick him up. Jack hangs up and braces himself for the rough landing. He hits the water hard.

10:45

Tom Lenox assumes the most grim facial expression he can and asks to speak to the President. Palmer says "Man, do you look serious!" Inside, Tom is happy his hard work has paid off. He tells the president about the grave reservations he has about contacting Anna Cruzis. The president is surprised that Tom knows. Tom tells him the line is not as secure as he perhaps thought.

10:52

Jack is lying face up in the water and appears unconscious but is actually breathing through his mouthpiece when he hears the distant sound of the CTU-Minneapolis helicopters. He waves to them and is thrown a rope ladder. "I hate these" he thinks.

10:54

Nokonek Xian is in contact with an associate in Dubai. The formula for the oil compound has been followed step by step there as the process took place in North Korea. "Is it ready?" He is told yes. "So, then... you will have the compound and so will Hu." "I don't know, who?" Xian hangs up.

10:58

A very angry and disappointed Nina Myers surveys the scene of her lipless associate and a missing Kim. She looks into a mirror on the wall and reaches up to the top of her head. She pulls her hair downward over her face and reveals that her face is a mask. The mirror reveals that she is Sherry Palmer.
