Re: recovery from getting braces removed

I want to say this again, because it is somethign I am trying to correct now.

PRESSURE, will be your biggest enemy once you get your braces off. I guess maybe that braces are simular to cookie cutters (not the same), in that they create pain if you use too much pressure.

(PS. Does any one know where i can get a used cookie cutter?)

Re: recovery from getting braces removed

When I had braces, I would always smear beeswax on them to keep from cutting my lips. This was such a pain to deal with all the time. Once the braces were removed and I could pickup my horn without the wax ritual, I was practicing twice as much as before. Playing trumpet went from being a chore to fun almost instantly. My ability and confidence increased dramatically.
