résumé
I play with one community band and a bunch of union bands.

On my résumé how do I differentiate between the two?

When I list the bands the prospective employer should know that I am being paid to play.

maybe one line "various community groups"

then all the union bands by name etc...

Always tell the truth about your experience. There is nothing more embarrassing than being caught lying about your employment history.

Wilmer,

You don't understand!

The American Festival Band is a full time union band. I play principal trumpet. I also play in other union bands. How do I tell the employer that they are professional bands and not community bands?

On a resume for professional employment, state only professional experience.
One hopes that the reader of the resume knows the groups you have cited. If not, they should ask you about them.
