| Forte User | Does Schilke make a two piece design? I thought that Schilke mouthpieces were only sold as one-piece mouthpieces. If they did have a two piece mouthpiece, I would do just that - get a 14-4 rim, and then buy separate 'A' and 'C' underparts.

| New Friend | trickg, I know Bob Reeves will machine different rims that you can interchange with the base of the same mouthpiece. www.bobreeves.com has more info.

| Mezzo Forte User | I am kinda like Pat (trickg). I use a Schilke 14 for legit stuff, such as concert and orchestral music. When I'm needing a sizzle sound, I use a 14A4A, usually for basketball band and the rare occasion someone needs me to play jazz. I really like the rims on the Schilkes, and the swapping system works fairly well. The only problem is that when switching from the 14 to the A4A, I have accuracy issues with the A4A, but a few minutes of dedicated lipslurs are usually enough to resolve most issues.
