Some things that have helped me:

Perform as often as you can for people. Play at every opportunity.

Record yourself often. We are our own biggest critic.

Think about what you're doing, not how you're doing.

Always be prepared.

Some people get a benifit from magnesium suppliments (magnesium sulfate).

Well, this is something I've fought with for years, sometimes successfully, last week not. Anyway, I've gathered the useful tips I've received and posted them at:http://www.geocities.com/mcstock.geo/mental.html
Hope this helps,
Matt

Unfortunately the trumpet is a very unforgiving instrument. I think we all know how you feel. We've all experienced hearing a note in our heads only to have a "spleeah" come out of the bell. Very humbling.
