Tooth pain while playing... - Page 2

Thanks for all the responses! The 1st chair trumpet at my school noticed I was applying a lot of pressure once I started to get above the staff, as well, so I'll give those a shot and tell you how it goes.

I have experienced tooth pain in the past from to much pressure.Mabey you could experiment backing off a bit on your upper register to see if its the culprate.You should know if your trying to do to much to soon.You say it happens when you chops aren"t in the best of shape,you could verry well be compensating with to much pressure.Try warming down with some pedal tones to get the blood flowing after a hard blow to keep your chops supple. Good Luck

Woah that confused me, i thought you were talking about me cause I had an outdoor concert and i was like HUh?!
but ya its so nice when you get rid of that pressure issue it really increases your range
