I am nastier than you. When I pull a trick like that I look at the trumpet player sitting next to me with a sour expression on my face. Works every time. OLDLOU>>

![]() | Re: Trumpet Names My horns don't have names, but I do tend to talk to them when they are not working properly (or when I am not working properly)! The dog always looks at me like I'm nuts when I do that.... A friend of mine has an old strad that he calls "Blaze" for some unknown reason - I'll have to ask him why!

![]() | Re: Trumpet Names To DeerSlayer555: lol @ your sig. Just one measly year ago I would have been caught saying about 5 out 6 of those. Now i might only say 2 of them. regarding the topic, I'll probably name my new horn if I win the Custom Strad. Edit: "WHEN" I get that Strad

![]() | Re: Trumpet Names I haven't thought about a name for my instruments but the computer gets the "B**ger Machine" from the family. Apparently that's how I address it nearly everytime it makes an error - who'd've thought it?

| New Friend | Re: Trumpet Names I actually have names for all my instrumets. When my parents bought me my first trumpet, my friend and I named it Becky (and then we named her bass clarinet Bob...). My mom even calls my trumpets by their names...we would be in the car and she'd ask if 'Diana' and 'Frankie' did well in jazz rehearsal...

![]() | Re: Trumpet Names After a bit of thought, I think that naming my trumpets has some potential. I thought: i. "Arturo" after the magician in the 1939 film "Eternally Yours" for my Getzen Eterna 900, ii. "George" for my Getzen 700S, as in George Getzen the "Spacely Sprockets" employee, and iii. "The Brazilian" for my Pocket Weril - read into that whatever you like.

Gee, what should I name my Bach D? Maybe "Spot," because it is such a dog? Arf!
