I have to admit, I didn't think he would go for it - I think the rest of the section cheering him on might have helped

I would echo Mike's review. The orchestra were superb, Petruska in Edinburgh tonight.. hmm how many hours does it take to drive there?????
Mahler is all too often played at full "crash bang wallop" pelt. His music is at times very subtle and deserves to be treated as such.

Also, Mike, next time I'll take a look at the prices on the menu before choosing a restraunt. The Waahooo an Indian!!!!! was quickly replaced by.. oo.. bit pricy in here, but it was very good. http://www.zaika-restaurant.co.uk

I got home just after 2pm.

The pictures are excellent!

Good deal....

I'm glad Manny was a sport about it!

Well, I guess I really need to try to make it to ITG now.

I'm warning you Mike this will not be pretty; ever see a 340Lb chia pet? You will when I put that hair on!

Thanks for posting; I'm rather envious!

Glad no one got detained!

Cheers!
John

Alex Yates has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Thumbs up

Thank you for posting Mike. I really enjoyed reading all about it and seeing the pictures. I love the one of Manny! LOL. Your other pink hairs of the section in order are (top to bottom) Doug Carlsen, Chuck Lazarus and Bob Dorer. I also listened to the broadcast and enjoyed it very much. Osmo's Mahler 5 was much nicer this time than earlier in the season and overall, a unique interpretation of this work.

It looks like you guys had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
