![]() | Re: Water Stains As long as it plays well, I'm not that fussed how my trumpet looks... My current trumpet would look plain weird if I polished it well because there are patches where the lacquer is missing...

![]() | Re: Water Stains Ah! I'm not alone. I'm just too lazy to clean the horn. As a student, we clock in many hours in the practice room and with so many chamber music groups in school, one will just get too lazy to clean the horn up.

![]() | Re: Water Stains I still reel and retch from sitting beside a "trumpeter" who had to clean food from her mouthpiece with a knitting needle - during a performance. Letting your trumpet suffer because you are too lazy speaks absolute volumes to me. I am officially horrified.

The best way is to have your breath support together so you blow the gunk through the horn onto the hair of the clarinet or viola player sitting in front of you!

Even though I do keep my horns 'reasonably clean', I tend to agree with Robin on his alternative method of trumpet cleaning. OLDLOU>>

![]() | Re: Water Stains Hey man, I'm a girl! I spend a ton of time actually playing my instrument. It's just that I'm the kind of person who likes my trumpet to look nice. Water DOESN'T help remove these stains. I stand corrected on my trumpet model. It's actually a YTR 2335S. I had made a mistake before and forgot to look at my actually trumpet. It's silver-plate so what should I do? I tried water which doesn't work. Neither does a cotton cloth. It's also all over my 3 valve slide. I'm assuming a brass cleaner such as Brasso would damage it. I'm going to look for Flitz, the cloth that was mentioned. Any other suggestions would help! |
