![]() | Re: What's you "other" job? I'm a resource manager for a 39 state region. I also work with incident management teams during oil spills, there's a tremendous amount of paperwork involved, not only for logistics but for use at the resulting court cases, that's how the taxpayers get refunded for the damages oil spills cause. Very few cases go unsolved. Anyway, I'm just getting back into the horn. I have remained active with guitar and electric bass for many years, I gig at least 2 times per week. |

Here in the USA, a collage is a patchwork, a collection of different media in one piece of art. A college differs from a university in that a university offers some sort of a doctor's degree--PhD, ThD, or MD, DD, DMA or whatever, whereas a college doesn't. A university may contain colleges, some of which offer, and some or which don't let you tack a "Dr." in front of your name after a bunch of coursework. If you want an easy (but not cheap) Dr. title, look to Austria. Don't worry--most big time trumpeters have been too busy playing to go after a "Dr." in front of their name. Your truly, Magister Vulgano

If you want to learn a trade you go to a college, if you want a degree you go to University. There are exceptions though. I got my degree in music through my college, which is lucky enough to have been granted the ability to give degrees even though they are a college. |

After 20 years in construction, with some side trips into the hotel/motel industry and satellite tv service and installation, I am know a 911/fire/police dispatcher. It can sometimes be a bit strenuous, but then there is the up side....... I get to tell the cops where to go! |

![]() | Re: What's you "other" job? After almost 30 years in the band room I took a job as an assistant principal last December (just a few days after our Christmas concert which was the best concert of my career). I feared I would miss the band room but being totally honest, I have really enjoyed the challenge of my new position.
