That's right. The institution of higher learning may not be certified a University for the reasons outlined in my post. For instance, here in Kalamazoo, we have a large University (Western Michigan University) with 30,000 or so students, and a fine private "college" (Kalamazoo College )which has only 1,500 students, or so and is dedicated to the Liberal Arts types of studies.

Hey Ted, the place is a dump but I think I'll keep it.

The Specialist! that is reaching deep into the history of privys. I have a copy lying around but a lot of the pages have been torn out.

I am a degreed musician and a degreed engineer. Engineering pays the bills and allows me to make music to take care of my soul.

Re: What's you "other" job?

University professor (non-music), licensed psychotherapist, keyboardist/composer/arranger. Used to do social/healthcare program administration, development, and health services research as well.

I stopped playing the horn back in the mid-1980's because I was only getting calls to play the keys (back then, acoustic & Rhodes elec. piano and Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 analog synth).

I compose with my PC/software and keys, and one of my orig. songs was placed in a Miramax Films Corp. movie, and a Lifetime Television Network weekly program. I got back into playing horns just a few months ago and have been having a blast!

Well Old Nick, we ignore our history at our peril. "The Specialist" was one of the books confiscated from me at school - reading it under the desk during Latin Studies. It's a shame some of the pages are missing - I remember there being not too many in the first place.
