Years ago Edward R Murrow interviewed Jimmy Petrillo, the president of the musicians union (remember them?)and ERM asked what advice he would give to a young musician. He said " stay out of the music business. There's no money in it'. From all these posts I would say that was good advice and many people heeded it.
