| Mezzo Piano User | Re: Where do we draw the line? I wouldn't consider having one lesson with someone as having "studied" with them. To me, studying with someone involves at least TWO lessons. One where you get coaching and then you spend some time on it by yourself and bring it back to the person. Three days is enough to say you studied with someone (I would say). Eric

![]() | Re: Where do we draw the line? I've had lessons with many people but studied with 4. "Studied" to me means I saw them on a regular basis over an extended period of time. I've made appearances with many fine professional bands, but I've only "played" with two (1 for 8 years and the other for about 20). I have served as the guest conductor of at least 100 bands over the past 30-years, but only been the director of 3 of them. I love the thought behind this thread because it is about honesty!
