Manny's Forum is one of the best things on the 'net. If every trumpet forum was this full of good stuff we would have a better world full of much better music making.

Thanks, Manny!

Wilmer,

My guess is that the Don plays somewhat to your north. Correct ML?

True - I recognise all the names in this thread so far.

Generally I ask my questions in Manny's forum, rather than the orchestral one. I think that means that once Manny has posted, people rarely chime in with extra ideas - there is a feeling that Manny's is the "final word" (after all, how many of us are principals in major orchestras?) and that often ends a thread whereas it might have continued for a while on TH with various people of varying levels of experience give different ideas, sometimes rehashing things already posted.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing - I ask questions in here because I want to pick Manny's brain (eg. "How do you approach this excerpt?"). Where else is there a forum dedicated to asking such questions to an orchestral pro?

If I have a more general question, ie. "What's the best recording of this piece?", I'll probably post it elsewhere, hoping to get more answers from more people.
