I mean, people can do what they want, it's not my horn getting trashed. Just don't get why people think brass is somehow immune to damage just cause its metal. Would you play a violin with syrup all over your hands?

I sort of used the Alex method for band concerts and church gigs.
I would add lemon juice to my cup of water. I used an old mute rack to hold the water cup. I would stick my finger in the water cup and touch my lips to get a little lemon water in my mouth. I could do it quickly, during rests. Now days I would use bottled water with the lemon in it. After the gig, add some tequilla.
