I really doubt that you're going to find a worthwhile transcription of the Second Brandenburg Concerto for solo trumpet--it's just too perfect a work to completely change the balance like that.

If you want to do a concerto competition, it might be worth asking if you can get three of your friends to audition with you. If you're planning on doing it at a school or university, they might be delighted to showcase four students in one piece.

On a somewhat related note, Barenreiter has recently come out with a "reduced" version of the B-burg. It's basically the same soloists and rhythm section (bass and keys) but minus the ripieno strings. I mentioned it a while back on Ed's forum and have since recieved the music and played through it with friends a few times. I'll post a longer review and maybe a video when I get the chance.
