Charlie Schlueter-Songs From the Heart

Charlie Schlueter has just released a new CD entitled Songs From The Heart. It includes many works that Charlie performed as a high school student over 50 years ago, as well as some recently written works by Eric Ewazen and Norman Bolter. I had the honor of writing liner notes for it--there are many works on the CD that I didn't recognize and had to go digging for. There is some really phenomenal playing on this CD. I hope every enjoys it as much as I am right now (this one isn't coming out of the CD player any time soon!)

-Jimi

it's not available on iTunes yet, although some of his others are. The best way to get it is to order it through his website. You have to do it the old fashioned way, but it's well worth it! Songs From The Heart CD

When I see Charlie I'm going to ask him why he couldn't write is own (dang) liner notes. =)

Re: Charlie Schlueter-Songs From the Heart

I too got a copy from Mr. Schlueter and I will second Jimi's comment about excellent playing. This CD is awesome, Mr. Schlueter plays with many different musical styles and does all extremely well from cornet solos to "Symphonic Memories" which is perhaps my favorite track on the entire CD. Wonderful playing!
