JimmyThird, thanks I did listen to the American Fanfare and it sounds great. I've passed the link along to our director and I'll bet he orders a copy. The only thing that scares me about it is that since we're an all amateur group, I'm worried that some of the aggressive technical stuff will get muddied by the imprecision of folks that can't keep up the pace. We continually struggle with people making early/late entrances and rushing difficult passages. We have way too many trumpets (like 13) and some just can't precisely play difficult technical stuff. We played "Procession of the Nobles" and a solid core of the trumpets played it well with many others muddying it up. I can't stand to listen to the recording of it, but the ones who muddy it up probably think it's not that bad.
