Jen Montone played the horn concerto here with the SLSO less than a month ago. It's really a fine piece. It wasn't enough for her though; she played Mozart 2 on the same program.

Also we just played the Hindemith left hand concerto with Fleisher two weeks ago. The piece was never premiered until last year. Who knows, maybe a great unknown trumpet concerto is in someone's attic right now.

What's the trumpet part like for the concerto for trumpet + bassoon. Is it a chop killer like the sonata is?

I ask because one of my flatmates is a bassoonist, and I know she's doing the Hindemith sonata at the moment. Might be a fun piece to look at with her if it's not too much of a marathon!!
