![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Manny wanna be? I doubt the guy in the clip was the original owner of that Raja. Every once in a while you can find people trying to sell them for half of their original price and sometimes less. With a built in mouthpiece you better be darn sure you like the horn and the mp. No more mouth piece safaris when the mp is built into the horn. Actually the Raja might be a bargain for some people Quote:

I'm not trying to be a jerk. There are people of all different ability levels, from people who have played with major orchestras around the world to those who are just picking up the instrument for the first time in decades. If you're going to pass judgement on someone, that's fine. It's just a little difficult to see where you're coming from when you won't let anyone know who you are or what your background is. Are you actually George Vosburgh? -Jimi

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Manny wanna be? On the guys website he is photographed with an Ajna C, about half of the price of a Raja. It really makes no difference. This guy has some fine chops even if there are some of us splitting hairs. It is funny that the heaviest criticism never comes from the working professionals. They always prefer to support any and all of us. Something to think about for you guys that are not willing to give this Brasilian guy the benefit of the doubt. I am sure that playing duets (or Mahler8) with this cat could be a very good time. Please do not demonstrate your ignorance by criticizing the Monette. A 10, 20 or 30 K horn never transformed any player into something he wasn't otherwise. After 10 years of an Ajna2 and now a Prana3, I feel that I am in a position to know what a horn like this can offer the player, and believe me there ARE very good reasons to own it. If you don't have or can't justify the cash, you are not a worse player for that. Just don't assume that your preference is the last word on earth! Choice is what our freedoms are about. Be very careful when trashing choice. If you are having a hard time with our opinions of Arthur, just imagine what we may think about you for trashing a guy you don't even know!

![]() | Re: Manny wanna be? Personally, I only noticed the lag in sound/video. I would think that's the only negative thing that can be said. I checked the guy's fingering on the solo clip and it was dead on. Closer inspection, looks like he is playing. We've all seen people in the movies and on TV who try and "act" like they are playing the trumpet. Heck, I've been the coach on a movie for an actor who had to do so. (when I saw the movie...he forgot to oil his valves...so haahaa...funny). That isn't the case here. ANYWAY!!!....I now think it's legit. He sure looks like he plays with such ease. Great sound. Plus...I can't imagine how anybody can say anything negatively about the horns. Sure, we all have our "visual" tastes...and prices we can stomach. The quality and sound these get are undeniable.
