![]() ![]() | Re: New York Philharmonic Performance Live from North Korea There was a nice write up in the WSJ about the reception. Kim Jung-Il (sp?) was not in attendance, and the NYP entourage was kept under close supervision during their entire visit. It looks like they had very little access to "real" North Koreans. The visit got very little press in the state controlled newspapers, although the government must have been aware of the international coverage. I understand why there are those out there who don't agree with this. It's the old "talking to terrorists" idea. There are certainly a lot of horrible things that the North Korean gov stands for, but any constructive dialogue is a good thing, and for a people who have always been told to blame the US for their problems, a visit from the NYP is a very positive thing. I'm looking forward to watching this tonight. -Jimi
