![]() | Roger Webster, B Dyke, Trumpet Shall Sound Found this over at the UK Brass Forum: http://video.leedsmet.ac.uk/stream/MessiahTrumpet.wvx So nice. Makes it look and sound effortless. Full of control -- nice crescendos. The whole thing just great :) |

![]() | Re: Roger Webster, B Dyke, Trumpet Shall Sound Hi, Roger, Very nice performance. I've never heard it in that arrangement, nor in Db either. It's a darker key, and the use of the Eb trumpet rather than piccolo takes even more of the edge off it. I suppose this tends to tone down the brass band accompaniment. I still prefer the original, but this is a nice change. Thanks for posting! Best wishes, Chas Reskin Editions Bim and The Brass Press, International Music Publishing

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Roger Webster, B Dyke, Trumpet Shall Sound Though I have great deal of admiration for Roger, this performance was not so impressive to me. Yes, he and the band show a good command of their instruments etc, but I thought that the tune was to be played much more lirically than they did. Also I think that a soprano cornet would have sounded much better then the E flat trumpet. IMO the singer and the band don't go very well together...
