tongue speed in Pines

Hey Manny,

In the opening of Pines of Rome, how do you tongue those 32nd notes or are they 64th notes (I don't have the part in front of me) without letting the tongue get in the way. It seems that "tooh" is to FAT of a syllabol to use for that speedy of the tongue. Is there a different syllable to use or a smaller part of the tongue that you focus on because I am having some trouble with that fast of use of the tongue...thanks!

Jeremy,

I tongue the opening by practicing many other things beside that excerpt. Go to Arban's and practice the double tongue section until you can play it at the same same speed as the excerpt and then the excerpt will be no problem.
