10 octaves overnight! Only $3000.00

I just found this new (new to me anyway) midi trumpet designed by Marshall and James Morrison. It has style over the Yamaha EWI and Akai EVI---anyone ever tried one?
Wish it was available in a brushed finish though...........I wonder how it slots.

it's all electronic.
I'm guessing it slots perfectly as it uses hand controls for bending and buttons for partials.

But playing fast passages might be a lot harder because you use the same low note fingerings to play the high notes. I'm interested to see how well this thing sounds though

Edit: After looking more through the website, it seems that you can only get 7 octaves (5 octaves plus the octave up and octave down buttons ). There are 10 buttons on the left side, but only 2 of them control octaves (the ones closest to you) the other 8 buttons control half octaves. That means without using the valves, you get low C, Middle G, Middle C, High G, High C, Double G, Double C, and Triple G. The octave up button allows you to go up to the so called quadruple G, but you then lose everything below middle C on the third line. Similarly, the octave down button allows you to go down to the Pedal C (Pedal F# with all valves down), but you then lose everything above double G 4 lines above the staff.

I was actually kidding about the slotting and the finish...
Would be fun to mess around with this unit though.

It looks more like a gun than a trumpet... I think that Yamaha did a trumpet midi controller. I don't know if it still exists.

Personally, I don't like the look or sound of these things. I'd much rather just play my horn. This could be a fun thing in a gig, though. You could do some interesting things with it.
