| Forte User | Deecy-If you can't market your product amongst your freinds, who can you market to? Is that the kind of support we want tto show other members of this forum? I find it exciting to read about other TM-ers' new projects.

![]() | Man, I'm glad to hear that Nicks' putting together a CD. Now I won't have to keep going to his site everytime I want to hear some great music. I'll have a CD to take with me. Keep up the good work, Nick and don't let a few turkeys bother you!

![]() | Nick, I honestly don't think that you should be sorry for sharing with us all. I know how much work you've put into this and it is not a point of a "new" version being played, but is a point of Nick playing it. In any case,it would very nice to see any and all TM members share their recordings with us,so we can all learn from each other. If you don't learn from your friends, who do you learn from ? One other thing that I would like to mention, There is a new CD in works,ALL of it will be played and recorded by TM members. You will be able to hear Nick Drozdoff,Adrian Kelly,Tony Gambaro,Russ Johnson and myself(I am not so sure that you all care to hear me play) on one CD and playing together, solos, duets, trios. We are all getting togeather to record this,no overdubs and with prerecorded rythm section from Australia. This will be a lot of fun.Isn't it what it is all about? |

![]() | edit In a venue dedicated to trumpet playing, it seems very strange that anyone would object to one of the few fine working professionals here sharing his talent with the rest of us. I'd object to someone/anyone selling Amway or pest strips, but postings like this one are informational, and certainly worth listening to. Let's just be thankful that we all are not required to post a snippet of our own personal performance upon admission to the TMForum. Nowhere to hide audition tapes might be a real eye opener of whose opinions should matter -- if, of course, anyone was brave enough to join TrumpetMaster under that rule! What do you say that we try to encourage talent and professionalism -- not drive it away, as has happened far too often? Dear Nick, Keep up the great work--by the way, your "Carnival" ranks as one of the best I've heard in a long time. |

![]() | Thanks for the kind support! With respect to my posts about my CD efforts: I am hugely excited about doing a CD with real live musicians instead of loops and half-baked sequences I concocted. In my excitement I was posting a great deal about each step. I was trying to SHARE the process. Deecy's post raises the possibility that there may be more folks who find my posts tedious and are just being politely quiet. Deecy is just speaking his mind. That's cool. I harbor no illusions that I am or ever will be a jazz giant. However, I WILL GO TO MY GRAVE TRYING! Whether or not I ever get there will NEVER be for ME to decide. That's cool, too! I really don't want to offend anyone, so I'm going to be a bit more parsimonious in my personal offerings along these lines, and I'll stick to the Lounge for them. Anything goes there, right? I'll keep trying to start and address threads pertaining to trumpet work in general. Believe me, I AIN'T going away! I'm just going to try to be more respectful to all who are members here. Thanks again for the kind words, all. To Deecy, thanks for offering you opinion. I'm sure we can all leanr from it. Peace, man! Nick

| Fortissimo User | Nick, you've got nothing to apologize for. I for one, wish you hadn't pulled your posts before checking with the moderators who would have supported you. It's "huge fun" to watch someone developing something (music) that he loves so much after getting "side-tracked" (if your teaching career could be called "side-tracking"!) by his day job. Damn the torpedoes.... full speed ahead, man. |

![]() | Nick, why apologize? I think you should go ahead and post away about your new CD. Keep us informed of its progress. Tell us where we can buy it. Go whole hog! I, like many others (probably the majority) on this forum, enjoy listening to you play and are interested in what you've got going on musically. |
