| Re: Funk Licks I'm not aware of any "Book". Listen to a lot of Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, Sly & the Family Stone. Even some Kool & the Gang for shots & hits etc.. For solos, listen to Maceo Parker & Fred Wesley to hear some of their signature licks. Work on keeping your notes short & tight. Practice your pentatonics and a lot of F#, F#minor E minor & major. Guitar player keys, in other words. If you do find a book, lemme know about it  |
