Oh no, here come the brand wars!!! RRRRUUUUNNNN!!!!!
Sorry, it was not my intention to start a brand battle. LB horns are maligned, I think.
I was saying, in my feeble way, that you can play lead on large equipment.
The old Meha Bessons were .468

Oh, yes sir, I agree. I play lead on a .470

That's prolly one of the reasons I'm not too great on picc, I pump a lot of air.

Using my best Erich Von Stroheim voice..............."You can be taught to use less air".
Look at Friedemann Immer, he's about 6'8," weighs a ton and plays picc like an angel

I'm sure I could be but I don't really have any good teachers I could afford in my neck of the woods. Internet, books, and CD's have been my teacher the past few yrs.

It's a great thread that references both Fawlty Towers and Erich von Stroheim...

Bore size is actually part of the reason I brought this thread up. I've been playing a .470 Callet Jazz. Recently though I picked up a .464 Callet Superchops. I really like both horns but they have different sounds. The Jazz has a huge slap you in the face sound while the SC a bit brighter but really projects more than the Jazz when pushed. I really love the way both of these horns play, I'm just trying to decide on the sound I want.
