Congratulations Felix.....I haven't heard the cd yet, but am looking forward to hear all of those great trumpet players.

I think Russ Johnson is one of the most overlooked, creative, jazz trumpet players in NYC.

Thank you for the compliments,Justin.
And yes,Russ Johnson has been flying under the radar. He is a very shy guy.:)
You should check out his solo CD's,he has a few, plus,he had recorded as a sideman on a 1000 others.:)
Not a World known name, but a real World class player.

Re: NYTC CD “Curious Yellow” Song of The Year award

Thanks for the compliments guys! The tune had been knocking around in my head for ages, but it tooks Nick special voice to really bring it to life (and of course the girls in Bojeme!)

Naturally none of this would have come about if it wasn't for Felix's dedication to music and trumpet playing! He brought together an amazing group of musicians for the recording and it is a great testimonial, i believe, to both him and his horns.

Cheers!
-Adrian

Re: NYTC CD “Curious Yellow” Song of The Year award

Folks, if you like to hear this tune and realize that it is only the tip of the iceberg of the whole CD, it is in my Media Player on my website, now. Just go to...

Nick Drozdoff :: Home and look at the top of the page.

There is a little media player there. There is a pull down menu to the right. You can call up Curious Yellow. Of course, you can just all the tunes play in sequence, if you wish, but if you want to skip all of the short samples that are there, you can select Curious Yellow directly.

As always, I was using equipment provided completely by Felix on this track, as I do on all of my work these days.

Enjoy.

Peace.

Nick
