| So many to choose from but off the to of my head, "My Baby Just Cares For Me" By Nina Simone, "Flip, Flop, And Fly" by The Blues Brothers, "Let There Be Drums" by the Carl La Fong Trio. Also Most of Jools Holland's "Small World, Big Band" album, but especially "I'm Ready" with Steve Winwood. |

| My "favorite" tracks for repetitious listening: Allen Vizzutti - Final Movement of "Emerald Concerto" (Vizzutti) Stan Kenton - Malaga (specifically, from "Live in London, 1972" - not Malaguena, but that's pretty cool, too) Brecker Brothers - "Sponge" from Heavy Metal Bebop Miles Davis - "Solea" from Sketches of Spain (Gil Evans) Miles Davis - "Prayer" from Porgy & Bess (Gil Evans) |

| Pianissimo User | here's a few that will usually get repeated automatically: Carl Saunders - Love Dance from BeBop Big Band Wayne Bergeron - Laura from You Call this a Living? Toto - Rosanna from Toto IV (Jerry Hey horns w/ Jimmy Pankow on bone - great sounding (punchy!!!) recording even 20 years later) Miles - Kind of Blue- the whole album Great topic Larry! TC |

I flipflop on my "listen over" tunes, but one big band recording that I just love and have never gotten tired of is "Time For A Change" off of the "Stan Kenton '76" album. What power and punch! At the moment, my favorite classical do over tune is the Teleman Concerto for three trumpets off of Wynton Marsalis's "Baroque and Classical Music for Trumpet and Orchestra" album. The way it was recorded was really neat too. (It tells all about it on the inside of the jacket) | |

| Well mine will be different ,,,, maybe my trombone influence. iTunes on my computer tells me how often I have played some of the songs I have uploaded from my CDs. Solo -- Michael W. Smith "Freedom" From the album "Freedom" Small Group -- MF and the MFO playing "MacAuthur Park" From the Album "The Best of Maynard Ferguson" The song in the 70's the really inspired me to play well enough to love it. Big Group -- This will be different (and it is a big band, but probably not what you meant "Melody Shop" by Karl King played by Grimethrope. On the Album "Melody Shop" Something about a brass band ripping through a very tough march and making it sound easy that is inspiring. Jim |

| This is impossible to answer...my favorite stuff would change, depending on my mood. So I will go with things I have been listening to since they came out. Miles Davis, Round About Midnight, Round Midnight (always beautiful, no matter who plays it) Miles Davis, Sketches of Spain, the whole great thing |

| I'm not sure I'm following the rules, but here goes. Stevie Wonder- "You Ain't Done Nothin'". This was originally written for Nixon in '74. I call it Bush's theme song. And is it FUNKY! Whew! Little Feat- "Spanish Moon"- from the fairly recent CD release of the live "Waiting For Columbus". Tower Horns are upfront and awesome! I remember when I first heard this in 1979. I couldn't believe it. This was the music I wanted to play and listen to. Pat Methany- "Dream Of The Return". Awesome melody and I'm the second cat to liken Pat's guitar synth to a trumpet. |

| Solo--I'm kinda cheatin' here. Miles Davis' "Someday My Prince Will Come" (the tune). EVERYONE'S solo is impeccable. BUY THIS!!! You won't be disappointed. Small Group--Kenny Wheeler's "Angel Song". These musicians (Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, Lee Konitz, and Bill Frissell) work really well together. Beautiful album. Big Band--Right now it's Dave Holland's "What Goes Around". His writing and the bands playing (esp. Chris Potter) is awesome. It also has Earl Gardner on lead trumpet. --Kevin |
