Sounds to me like there is some confusion about two 'embouchures' vs. two mouthpieces.

I would ditch the double embouchure as well. The pros do it by changing the sound concept in their head.

I always try to make things as simple as possible when playing the trumpet. The old song and wind by Mr. Jacobs rings true for me. Hear it. Play it!
