Ray Vega has a spectacular aura about
Ray Vega dates this week

Hello Dear Friends!
I recently returned from Europe and an extremely successful tour with Frankie Morales' Mambo of The Times Orchestra. We had the honor of backing up the legendary Puerto Rican Quatro Master, Yomo Toro. While in Europe, I was able to hook up some gigs with the Master Cuban Bassist, Israel Lopez CACHAO and his Allstars.
Yomo (75) and Cachao (88) took me to school every night.......I honestly believe that I'll never be quite the same. Their level of creativity and commitment to musical excellance was at a higher plane throughout the tour. This was truly an AWESOME experience.

Well, I'm back in town and will be performing this coming Thursday Night, August 9th 2007 9:30PM with:
The Ray Vega Sextet
at:
The Nuyorican Poets Cafe
236 East 3RD St.
New York City

The Sextet will be featuring:
Dave DeJesus:Alto Sax
Enrique Haneine:Piano
Andy Ealau:Bass
Richie Morales: Drums
Renato Thoms:Tumbadoras
RV:Trumpet/Percussion

On Saturday, August 11th at 1PM
I'll be conducting a Master Class for the San Jose Jazz Society at The Improv in SJ.

On Sunday Night, August 12th at 6PM
I'll be closing the mainstage at
The Comcast/San Jose Jazz Festival
with The LatinJazz Allstars in a Tribute to Hilton Ruiz.
The band will feature:
Arturo O'Farrill:Piano
Yunior Terry:Bass
Steve Berrios: Drums
Pete Escovedo:Percussion
Juan Escovedo:Percussion
Jimmy Bosch:Trombone
RV:Trumpet

I would love to see you on either coast!

Peace!
RV
