![]() | What are you listening to? I wanted to share a few albums i have been really checking out lately, and am curious to what the rest of you folks are digging on too. Scott Colley, "Archtiect of the Silent Moment" (Ralph Alessi-Trumpet, David Binney-Saxophones, Gregoire Maret-Harmonica, Jason Moran-Piano, Adam Rogers-Guitars, Antonio Sanchez-Drums, Craig Taborn-Piano, Rhodes, B3 Beautiful creative, original music. incredible band and performance. Dave Douglas, "Live At The Jazz Standard" (The Dave Douglas Quintet is: Dave Douglas - Cornet; Donny McCaslin - Tenor Saxophone; Uri Caine - Fender Rhodes; James Genus - Bass; and Clarence Penn - Drums) I picked up this double live album, a while ago, but hadn't really checked it out until recently. I just found out you can download the whole run at at the Jazz Standard. http://musicstem.com/album/178 Maybe soon. Gonzalo Rubalcaba, "Avatar" (Gonzalo Rubalcaba-piano, Mike Rodriguez-trumpet, Yosvany Terry-saxophones, Matt Brewer-bass, Marcus Gilmore-drums) I saw this band play at the Village Vanguard last week and was inspired to buy the album the moment I returned home from the gig. This performance made me go right to work composing and practicing my own original music. These are the albums i have been really spending time with right now. i hope some of you guys check them out, and buy them. You can listen to samples or purchase them at itunes or amazon, etc. Let me know what you are listening to, and what you think of these albums. JS
