Malcolm McNab's album which is worth every penny. It's an absolutely stunning disc with possibly the best "recorded" sound I've ever heard from a trumpet.

Run over to his site and buy it. You will not regret it. WOW.

That Roy Eldridge is awesome, I stole a lot of stuff from that recording. There was never a better trumpet player than Roy, maybe some as good but no one better.

I've been going through a Sonny Rollins period lately, a lot of bootlegs from around 1980 and his new self-produced CD on the Doxy label, Sonny,Please. Excellent. Some 1980's Stan Getz, (Anniversary Live, Blue Skies), Horace Silver, Mingus. The usual.
