U2
Collective Soul
Maynard Ferguson
Cherry Poppin Daddies
Robert W. Smith
Monty Python Sings (don't ask)
Tchaikovsky (just can't get enough of that 4th Symphony)
Beethoven (or that 9th and Wellington's Victory)
P.D.Q. Bach (Somehow my 6 year old has gotten hooked on it)
"I, make monkey motions...Doo-ah-doo..." (don't recall the title, but I hear it every night at bed time.....sigh)
...

But the BEST thing I heard all week? A good friend played for me a recording of the Minnesota Youth Symphonies performing and the sound was simply fantastic. To think that a group of kids can perform at such a level as that is astounding. Major Kudos to Mr. Laureano for doing such a remarkable job at leading the MYS. Truly a blessing to hear music of such beauty coming from our youth....

Wow RZ - U2 and Collective Soul? Way cool! And PDQ Bach rocks for a good laugh. I love that stuff....too funny.

John! STYX??? Yeah! What a blast from the past and one of my favorite bands from that time. I will have to dig my collection out. "Come Sail Away".

Glen - ELP? Good taste!

This week I have plugged into Chase - Ennea, John Hassel - Fascninoma, Robert Rich - Seven Veils, Tchaik - 6, Brahms Requiem - NY Phil w/Masur.

Since CSoul is from Georgia, I guess it doesn't suprise me that you like it, Alex. Their last album was outstanding, despite the loss of Ross Childress. But U2 tops my list, period. Simply never heard another group resonate with me more.

..."Come sail away..." oh boy....

U2 rules RJZ! They have so many wonderful tunes....."Running to Stand Still" gets me every time. I have followed U2 since the very beginning and have seen them in concert twice. FANTASTIC shows, both of them. In light of Coretta Scott King's passing, "In the Name of Love" will get some air-time in my home today.

Whoa...freaky! Running to Stand Still was always one of my most favorite of their tunes, but never seemed as popular as others. Although, "Kite" and "Original of the Species" are rapidly gaining on my list.

I've got you by one, though, I've been to three U2 concerts! Madison for Popmart (not the best U2 stuff ever), "Elevation" in Tacoma, WA (which thoroughly ROCKED), and then up at the discount center (Target Center) for the latest tour (where they opened AND finished with "Vertigo"...odd). But if price$ keep going up, I may be done.

...and tptCarl -- Tower of Power...cool!

My favorite on this is "Poseidon." I love the solo that Bill does on this song. Just awesome.

I have to have my fill of the musers and Gordon as often as possible!

I love Snuffers -- will it be at the Greenville location? I was a regular there!
Yeah, I listen on the way to work to the musers. Gordon is a character. One time when their station used to be located on the corner of mockingbird and central exp across from SMU and when Gordon was working with the Hardline, he decided to go wireless at the main SMU library. I played around with him by stalking him. One of the funniest (and somewhat disturbing) bits he's ever done though was walk around Downtown Dallas in a devil suit asking people questions. Pure gold.

As for Snuffers, Lower G'ville, of course. Only other one I go to is Preston Center but it doesn't compare.
