Jim, I think the trumpet internet community would love to see some better pictures on those bags on your site. I've scoured the net looking for pictures have found unsatisfactory results. I do all my research on the net and if I can't find info or pictures it's pretty unlikly I'm going to buy it.

I carry around my Bb, flugel, C, Eb, and picc in mine, along with all my music and mutes and stuff. They're great bags and have yet to rip on me or anything. The downside is that since they hold EVERYTHING one tends to put a lot of weight into them, not that they won't hold up, but just remember you'll be the luggin' the darn thing around .

How's the padding on them? I'm concerned about the softness of the bag.

No kidding. They plan on rolling out their new website they hope by Thanksgiving with better pictures. Then the dealers can use them on their websites. I will take pictures as I get bags in.

As for the padding, it is quilted, but it is "firm". Holds the trumpet securely while giving it a very nice cushion. I am going to order a couple next week. I will put them up on my website hopefully this weekend (I am still working on the Kanstul pages too!)

The double bags really interest me. Seems like a very nice way to carry two horns (especially a Bb and a Flugel).

If you haven't seen them take a look at their website:

I would love anyone's opinion.

Jim
I have carried my horns in Altieri bags for many years. My bags are "rush hour on the NYC subways" tested. I have just about every possible Altieri bag, from the single to the biggest bag.
I have had occasion to carry five horns............mutes and a change of clothes in one Altieri bag. The bag did just fine.
I recommend the bags.

Since ScreaminRaider made me such a believer, I now have them online with a few better pictures. I hope as I get some of the bags in so I can take some highly detailed pictures.

I have had a single trumpet bag for a few years now - I useed to love it, but it has fallen apart - I don't believe that this bag offers the horn much protection either. Comfy to carry around yes, great protection for your horn and durable - not really.

I know I expect things to last too long, including shoes, but this bag literally fell apart. Years ago the zipper went on me, it was fairly new, so I call Altieri and they said sorry, nothin we can do about it. Not such good service.

Anyway, it works for some, so they are doing something right.

Cheers,
Spitty

Well,

I received my first shipment of Altieri bags this week. And I am sold out! I ordered several more today.

One of them belongs to me. Once I saw the bag I had to have one. They are very light, with red quilted padding. Plastic outer shell protects the horns from impact, and the quilted padding inside securely snuggles the horns.

I took it to band rehearsal. Lots of people took a good hard took at it. Not only does it hold my horn, but all my stuff as well. My ProTec case is going on eBay this week.

Spitty obviously had a problem with the bags. I guess everyone makes a clunker now and again. But man, was I impressed when I actually received the bags. I sold one to a gentleman in South Korea this week.

I am a big believer in American made products. Altieri is made in Denver. Kanstul in Anaheim. I cannot think of a better combination.

Jim
