| Claude Gordon Mouthpieces Can anyone give me any information on the Claude Gordon 3 Mouthpieces? This is what the Claude Gordon website says about the horn: Quote:
Any comparisons to a bach mouthpiece (since I currently use a Bach 1.5 C) or size? I'm wondering if this mouthpiece would make a good one for giving me a more brilliant sound or use in Jazz Band. That way, my Bach 1.5 C could become my mouthpiece for more classical oriented music.

Kanstul Mouthpiece Comparator I called up the Bach 1.5C from the left drop-down menu and I called up the CG3 from the right drop-down menu, then I dragged one image over the other for comparison. The CG3 is smaller diameter and shallower than the Bach 1.5C. The CG3 is extremely similar to a Bach 3C in both diameter and in cup depth / shape, but the CG3 has a slightly narrower rim with the rim also dropping off more towards the outside edge making the rim less flat than on the Bach 3C. Edit: I became curious about the other CG mouthpieces shown in the Comparator. The CG3 is almost identical to the Bach 3C. The CG7 is almost identical to a Bach 7C The CG10 is almost identical to a Bach 12C (from the previous pattern I was surprised that it was not closer to a Bach 10C). The CG Personal is somewhat similar to a Bach 7 (no letter), but the CG Personal cup is slightly more "V" shape than the Bach 7. Note that I do not know how the throats and backbores compare, only the rims and cups. - Morris Last edited by screamingmorris : 05-01-2008 at 07:49 AM.
