cornetguy is on a distinguished road
i think besson used to have a flight case standard with the pro horns, and they where avalible for purchase seperatly. haven't seen them since the French Besson Classic and Stamm models were discontinued though.

Felix,
I don 't know if you need this for immediate travel or are looking for something reliable to transport horns for business. If you need bullet proof shipping bags contact Jan Alejandro at janalcase.com. He designs/builds touring cases. He understands expensive equipment and artists, having made cases for major symphonies to rock stars. I have several custom cases and they are the best, even airline baggage handlers don't faze the contents.

Re: Double Trumpet Flight case

FYI: You can check out my "Armor" case at www.rawbrass.com. It will cost more than the pelican option, but it will have a soft fabric over foam and will be designed for your desired usage. It rolls, but it also has an optional shoulder strap. We are a small company, but we make a fantastic case!

thats a lot of cash for a case, but WOW. they look freakin awesome! that's the most impressive case (IMO) that ive ever seen. the trailblazer running it over is a good selling point . maybe someday ill have the cash for (and a trumpet worthy of..) on of those. sweet.

I believe a 1560 (interior dimensions of 20.37" x 15.43" x 9.00"/51.7 x 39.2 x 22.9 cm) MIGHT do the job. Mine is the 1610 (interior dimensions 21.68" x 16.62" x 10.56"/55 x 42.2 x 26.8 cm) and holds four trumpets. I guess the important thing is making sure there is enough clearance for the bell of the flugel.

An example for reference would be the outer dimensions of a Wolfpak Quad (only thing I could find specs for in a pinch) which is 26"W x 15-1/2"H x 11"D.

I hope this helps.

Re: Double Trumpet Flight case

A student of mine used a pelican 1600 for a Yamaha 631 flugel & Schilke s42 trumpet. There was a hole for a harmon mute. Also, he has some compartments under the flugel. Back then, there were no pelicans with the handles and wheels, so the the 1610 looks good, especially with the added space. Very protective.

Re: Double Trumpet Flight case

I've got the 1560 configured for three big horns. I'd bet you could do a Bb and Flugel if the flugel was angled slightly from horizontal, maybe 30 degrees up or so. The depth of the 1560 case will accomodate a flugel bell no problem. I'm still trying to figure out how people are getting three horns into a 1510 case. I have one inch or less padding between horns and I wouldn't have it any other way.
