![]() | Flugel match for monette b2s3 Hi, I play a B2S3 Monette mouthpiece. I double a lot. I currently use a Bach 1 1/2 C flugel mouthpiece. I was wondering what flugel mouthpieces other B2S3 players use. I don't mind the Bach but it seems like a poor cousin to the Monette.

![]() | Re: Flugel match for monette b2s3 The reason why I started this thread is that I have noticed a heap of people playing Monette trumpet mouthpieces yet I have not noticed a single person playing a Monette Flugel. I was wondering if there was a match with another brand.

![]() | Re: Flugel match for monette b2s3 I play a Monette FL 6 on my Yamaha flugelhorns and it is wonderful. I also have the companion mouthpieces B4SFL for trumpet and a PranaB6FLR6 for cornet. The best that I can say about these mouthpieces (They are expensive) is that they are just fun to play. |

Flugels have varying shanks so it is helpful to tell Monette for which horn it should be. I just put the mouthüiece into my Getzen 4 valve flugel and off it went. No additional time needed to get used to it. I hav the non-Prana B2 deep vee cup version for my 1911 Holton cornet.

![]() ![]() | Re: Flugel match for monette b2s3 ozboy-- Many trumpeters out there use drastically different mouthpieces for different horns. This cup for C trumpet, that back bore for flugel, this rim for piccolo. I'm definitely not smart enough to figure that kind of stuff out, so I pay Monette to do it for me. They will do the subtle variations to make sure you get the same "mouthpiece experience" on your B-flat, flugel, and whatever other toys you have laying around the house. It's as simple as calling them up and asking for a matching flugel mouthpiece. No need to worry about the details, that's what your paying them to do! -Jimi
