![]() | Re: Gig Bags If you were going to get a hard case I would suggest a Marcus Bonna, a Torpedo Bag, or if you are on a serious budget a ProTec. I will give ProTec credit in that a large percentage of my students use them and to this date not a single student has had damage to an instrument due to the case not holding up. If you want a soft case that offers a lot of protection I suggest a case made by Glenn Cronkhite. Glenn made me a custom case a few years a go and I keep my Harrelson, Kanstul 1525, and Schilke P5-4 in that case with a great deal of confidence. It has traveled by car, and also by air, and I have never had even a scratch on any of my instruments. You can find Glenn at glenn cronkhite custom cases. He is a very nice person and he will work with you to make exactly what you want for your instruments.

![]() | Re: Gig Bags I really like the new Protec leather gig bag. It is a soft case so it's not quite as protective as a hard ones but because of the way it is constructed I feel safe with it. The major difference between it and the Reunion Blues gig bag is that the trumpet stands upright when the case is on a car seat or floor and not on it's side. It also has a good size storage pocket and easily fits under an airline seat. After about a year of use I've had no problems with it

| New Friend | Re: Gig Bags This is probably an incredibly stupid question, but could someone explain how you get the Trumpet in and out of a Torpedo Bag? From the pictures it looks like the interior padding is a snug fit around the bell, so how do you get it in seeing as the trumpet is larger than the bell?!? |

![]() | Re: Gig Bags It's not a stupid question, the horn goes in vertically with the bell pointed towards the ceiling. The bell ends up resting on top of the foam without any pressure being put on the bell. The new design of the bag has a sort of cone shaped foam pad that is on the lid of the tube that comes down to support the bell. All of the foam and fabric on the inside of the case is super protective and smooth for your horn.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Gig Bags TB, Since you're in the UK, try Brass Bags in Birmingham. I've had 2 of them (both triples) for years and they even fit into the small overhead compartments on commuter airplanes. They've been the answer for me. Cheers, EC |

![]() | Re: Gig Bags I just posted a TON of new photos on the Torpedo Bag website, FYI (5/20/07). The Classic Nylon photos turned out great. Phil Parker in the UK carries them, and would probably be your best bet. Pix of the new Mouthpiece Holsters and the Beer/Mute Holders are also up, on the "New Products" page. Pic Pocket(tm) prototype is almost done. Double this summer--it's my sacred duty to y'all. --Steve |

Or where can I buy it in Switzerland near to Sankt Moritz, because I'll spend 3 weeks there in June,July. :) Of course with work, not only Holiday. :) I'll be there with the Hungarian Radio Orchestra.

![]() | Re: Gig Bags Forget about Reunion Blues bags, check these out... talwarframe Craftsmanship and materials are top-notch. Much better than RB in my opinion, and not as pricey. |
