Re: Headphones

Firestas'1,
fitting headphones is like fitting a mouthpiece. The geometry of the earpads corresponds identically to the rim of a mouthpiece. Even a fraction of an inch can change the comfort and frequency response dramatically.
Here is a headphone site that is very similar to TM in its "family like" attitude.

Rock Grotto Forum - Home

There are VERY interesting posts on everything headphone.

I have AKG-K701 that sound like instruments as I experience them live. I have never been so happy with a piece of audio gear as with these.

Re: Headphones

the folks at Head-Fi.org: Headphones, iPod earphones, portable audio, MP3 players, high-end audio would be glad to help you out, generally any Grado or Senn will make you happy, but there are endless pages of threads to keep you busy trying to decide what's best for you.

sorry about your wallet!

Re: Headphones

Any Grado, though the SR225 are a pretty good bang for the buck. All are very efficient.

Sennheiser HD580, HD600, or HD600. You will need a headphone amp to drive 'em, as they are rather power hungry.

AKG K601, K701. Somewhat power hungry, though my iPod drives my K501s to a reasonable level.

A good headphone amplifier isn't a bad thing with any of these choices.
