![]() | Re: Is Marvel Mystery Oil ok for valves? For years I've used a mixture of Ultra Pure lamp oil and Marvel's: one part Marvel's to nine parts Ultra Pure. In my own experience, I've never had any issues with sticking valves, or unusual wear on the horn. I am careful not to spill any on my skin, as is the case with any petroleum product.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Is Marvel Mystery Oil ok for valves? actually I have a gig coming up for the Fantaisie Brillante by Arban with a wind band. I did some motor work on my wifes Opel Station wagon and thought 2 or 3000 RPM is a great deal faster than a quarter note =152 (16ths would be 608 BPM and 32nds= 1216). Some of the stuff I ate for Christmas made my tailpipe smoke though.............. (fortunately not on stage!)

![]() | Re: Is Marvel Mystery Oil ok for valves? Marvel Mystery Oil is a very good product. I use two ounces of it in the gas tank of my motorcycle every time I fill up. It really keeps the carbs. clean & also serves as a fuel stabilizer. Would I ever use it on my horns? NO WAY! |

![]() | Re: Is Marvel Mystery Oil ok for valves? I don't think valve oil is expensive enough to warrant using something which might burn your lips off or be toxic to you, especially if you have open wounds in your mouth.
