![]() | Re: MB Quad Can any of you guys who have MB quads take a couple of photos or two of your setup and post them? I just received mine, and I'm confused how you can fit the 3rd and 4th horns lying on their side without compressing the valves and putting pressure on the valve stems (something I am reluctant to do). It seems like with the first two horns standing up side-by-side in the "front" compartment, there is not enough lateral space in the "back" compartment for a horn to lie on its side without compressing the valves. I don't have a picc, so maybe it does work with those... I can get a 3rd horn comfortably in tucked at sort of a 30- or 45-degree angle with very noce cushioning, but not laying flat - which means getting a 4th horn in is pretty tight. I spent about 2 hours last night and couln't get a layout that I was confortable with. I've checked out the example photos from Thompson Music, SlideBone etc, but I can't seem to figure this out from those pictures... Thanks!

![]() ![]() | Re: MB Quad Kevin, When I first got my case, I felt the same way as you. Eventually, I just decided to put them in the same way that the other two went in. This has worked fine for me: ![]() Hope this helps, Jimi

![]() | Re: MB Quad Jimi: That's perfect - Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for... I thought of doing something similar, but I couldn't figure out what to do with the extra length of that soft divider pad. I see that you just folded it over a bit - cool I was really surprised how compact MB was able to make the quad - it's not that much bulkier than the standard Pro-Tec single case that I have! My only design "wishes" would have been for them to make an expandable section as part of the outside cover for odds and ends (valve oil, etc - the zippered pocket isn't useful for anything more than a couple of pieces of sheet music), and for a better-designed mouthpiece pouch. But I'm just nitpicking - I'm very impressed with the case overall.

| Forte User | Re: MB Quad What I did (found my camera, but the batt's need charging) is to out the Bb and C in the front, then my Eb in the back on the upper tier with the bell foam thing (bell right, 2nd valve slide up) and a triangle piece behind the bell bow. Under that is my picc, with a bell curve piece and a triangle. The horns do not move one bit. Even if I try to wiggle them. I also have the mouthpiece pouch that came with it doen there wedged with some other rectangle pieces. Hopefully the batteries charge soon... I miss the shoulder strap, too, but I think it's better for my back this way.

| Forte User | Re: MB Quad 40- No shoulder strap. I thought at first that I'd miss it. But I've adapted after only a couple arries. It's also much easier on the back that way. Here are some photos: ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() | Re: MB Quad Anyone have a photograph of a triple showing flugel and trumpet?????? What are the outside dimensions of the case and do they only have backpack straps? Is the foamlike interior material strong and longlasting? Cheers Walter |
