| New Friend | I have similar experiences with the Bach Megatones. I started out on a Bach 2c, then switched to a 2c megatone.. I quickly noticed a darker sound, but a weakened range and flexibility. After playing on the megatone for a few months, i switched back to a Bach 2c with a 24 trhoat and a NY 7 backbore from Dillon.... in my (and my director's) opinion, the regular Bach mouthpieces have more 'sizzle' to the sound. The only real benefit to a Megatone is that i can use it on the marching field without getting a spread tone. |

![]() | Not a big bach mp fan but i do own and occasionally use them. I have used for about 6 months each A Bach 3C, A Bach Megatone 3C and currently a Marcinkiewicz ConcertHall C5(Similar dimesnions to a bach 3C) I HIGHLY recommend the C5 due to he similar weight add, but also the balanced weight add. it actually sounds like a darker version of a regular Bach 3C and feels very similar. Also, they have a very nice look about them Check them out here: http://www.marcinkiewicz.com/mouthpieces/trumpet/ch.htm |
